SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

ACPQ publishes scholarly articles, topical discussions, and book reviews in all areas of philosophy (including history of philosophy) relevant to the Catholic intellectual tradition. Authors should refer to the following documents when preparing submissions of articles or review to ACPQ:

  • ACPQ Article Submission Guidelines (pdf)

  • Style / Formatting Guidelines for Accepted Articles (pdf)

  • ACPQ Review Submission Guidelines (pdf)
  • Electronic submission of manuscripts is preferred. There is no need to send a hard copy.
After completing the tasks detailed for an article or review above, email the manuscript to the editorial office here:

Authors unable to email a final version should mail a disc or CD-ROM labeled with the title of the document and the program used. Discs must be IBM compatible; please do not use Mac discs. Please mail the disc or CD-ROM to the following address:

    Articles in ACPQ

Articles of fewer than 12,000 words (including notes) are preferred. Longer articles may be returned to the author with an invitation to submit an abbreviated version. Rarely is a manuscript accepted outright; most papers undergo some revision before publication. All manuscripts are blind reviewed. Those that pass an initial review by the Editor or an Associate Editor will be sent to one or more external referees. The entire process of review normally takes several months.

    Reviews in ACPQ

The ACPQ generally commissions book reviews, but also welcomes proposals to write reviews. Book reviews are generally 700-1200 words long and ought not exceed 1500 words. Proposals to write reviews should be sent to the attention of W. Matthews Grant by mail or email at the address above.

    Books for Review in ACPQ

The journal welcomes books from publishers to be included on the list of books received. Publishers should send books for review to the attention of W. Matthews Grant by mail or email at the address above.
