Fichte-Studien is a peer-reviewed journal focused on the work and legacy of the German idealist philosopher Johann Gottlieb Fichte. The journal explores the philosophical dimensions of Fichte’s transcendental thought, and examines the historical context and contemporary discussions that shaped Fichte’s development. Each thematic volume contains a mix of original articles, reviews, and discussions. Most contributions are in German, but the journal also publishes original work on Fichte in English, French, and Italian. The journal is sponsored by the International Johann-Gottlieb-Fichte-Society and is a major source for all students of German idealism.
"Die Fichte-Studien wollen die wissenschaftliche Erforschung des Werkes von Johann Gottlieb Fichte fördern. Sie eröffnen Forschern, welche den transzendentalen Gedanken und Systementwurf philosophisch erörtern, unangesehen der Schulposition und Lehrmeinung eine Publikationsmöglichkeit. Dabei sollen die historischen Voraussetzungen und zeitgeschichtlichen Kontroversen ebenso zu tieferer Klarheit gebracht werden wie die systematischen Konsequenzen heute. Die einzelnen Bände bringen teils thematisch verbundene, teils vermischte Beiträge. Außerdem enthalten sie einen Dokumentations- und Rezensionsteil."
