Journal of Islamic Philosophy
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Submissions are welcome from anyone working in the field: professors, scholars, students. Submissions may be of any reasonable length (under forty manuacript pages), and must meet professional and academic standards for original work suitable for publication. English language submissions are strongly preferred.
The journal follows the Chicago Manual of Style (15th ed.) for citations and general style guidelines.
To ensure that special characters display correctly, articles should be submitted in Gentium font with transliterations as necessary. The Gentium font is an open-source font and works on both PCs and Macs. This font may be downloaded here.
All submissions must be made by e-mail in Microsoft word format. Please use either .doc or .rtf formats if you are using any other software to compose your article. Please DO NOT submit files in Microsoft's .docx format (a new format in MS office 2007).
Include complete citations in embedded footnotes for each article. Footnotes must be complete because bibliographies are not included.
Submitted papers must include an abstract of no more than 150 - 200 words. Information on the writing of a good abstract is available here.
Submitted papers may also include a list of subject descriptors or key terms - this is optional.
In the e-mail message accompanying your submission please include:
your name
university or organizational affiliation
mailing address
telephone / fax number
e-mail address where you can be reached during the production process
