The New Scholasticism was established in 1927 as the official journal of the American Catholic Philosophical Association. For over sixty years this peer-reviewed journal published scholarly articles, topical discussions, and book reviews dealing with all philosophical areas and approaches. It published contributions from a wide range of authors, including Mortimer Adler, Lewis White Beck, David Burrell, W. Norris Clarke, Frederick Copleston, Daniel Dahlstrom, Jude P. Dougherty, Lewis S. Ford, Étienne Gilson, Martin Heidegger, Quentin Lauer, Ralph M. McInerny, Wilfrid Parsons, Wilfrid Sellars, Robert Sokolowski, Leo Strauss, and Roland Teske. Since 1990 the journal has been published as American Catholic Philosophical Quarterly.
