The Semiotic Society of America is an interdisciplinary professional organization that supports innovative scholarship linking analytical and critical approaches to the postmodern world. The Semiotics series contains the proceedings of the society's annual meetings. First published in 1980, these volumes provide a unique overview of the development of semiotics in the 20th century.
