The 21st World Congress of Philosophy was held in Istanbul, Turkey in 2003. The general theme of the congress, which brought together over 2,700 philosophers from 90 countries, was "Philosophy Facing World Problems". These Proceedings contain edited selections of over 400 papers presented at the congress in thirteen thematically organized volumes. Each separately edited volume provide an overview of current philosophical discussion of these issues. While most published contributions are in English, the set also contains contributions in French, German, Spanish, and Italian. All volumes were published 2006-2007 by the Philosophical Society of Turkey, in cooperation with International Federation of Philosophical Societies.
