Philo: A Journal of Philosophy
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION: Submissions should be prepared for blind review. The author’s name should not appear on the manuscript, and self-identifying citations should be avoided. The manuscript should be double-spaced, include page numbers on every page except the first, and have ample margins.
ABSTRACTS: Except for book reviews, all submissions must be accompanied by an abstract of about 100 words.
REFERENCES: Philo’s reference format can be found in any issue of the journal. Use documentary-note style as described in The Chicago Manual of Style. Use endnotes instead of footnotes. Discursive notes should be brief and few. Submitted articles not conforming to this format must be rewritten if they are accepted for publication.
ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION: Manuscripts must be submitted by email. Include “PHILO” in the subject line of the message. The text of the message should include the author’s complete contact information, including surface mail address, email address, and daytime phone number. The paper and abstract should be attached to the message and saved as a Microsoft Word file. Philo does not consider manuscripts that are under consideration by another journal. Submissions and all editorial correspondence should be emailed to the editor, Paul Draper, at pdraper@purdue.edu.
PROOFS: Page proofs of accepted manuscripts will be provided to authors. Proofs must be reviewed by authors and returned to the editors within 3-4 days.
