Newsletter of the Society for the Advancement of American Philosophy
Published from 1973 to 2009
Patrick Dooley, Editor
The Society for the Advancement of American Philosophy (SAAP) seeks to advance American philosophy by promoting interest and research in its history, encouraging original and creative work in its spirit, and providing forums for the exchange of information and ideas. It sponsors awards, grants, and an annual conference, and from 1973 to 2009 it also produced a newsletter for its members. It was published three times each year, in January, June, and October issues. The January issue contained the annual conference program and registration forms. The June issue contained book reviews, a report on the annual meeting, the Herbert Schneider award citation, announcements, and calls for papers. The October issue also contained book reviews, review essays, announcements, and calls for papers. The newsletter provides an overview of the society's activities for the past 35 years, and the reviews provide an overview of current publications in American philosophy during this time.
All issues are being digitized for SAAP in cooperation with the Philosophy Documentation Center. We need copies of issues 40 (1985) and 47 (1987) to complete our coverage.
